Top-100 OT Jaelyne Matthews schedules official visit with Tennessee
Toms River North (N.J.) Offensive Tackle Jaelyne Matthews took his first visit to Tennessee last month, and the Vols clearly made an impression during the trip. Now, the four-star offensive tackle has announced his official visit date with Tennessee.

“I enjoyed hanging around the players and the coaches and getting to know the Tennessee lifestyle a little bit,” Matthews told Volquest following his February visit. “It is my first time down here in Tennessee, and it is nice. We hung out with a lot of the other recruits. I built a relationship with them and they are moving up in the recruiting thing for me.”
The elite offensive tackle enjoyed the opportunity to connect with Glen Elarbee during the visit.
“He reminds me a lot of my O-line coach at high school,” he said. “He is a very personable guy. He treats his o-line like they are his son. I look up him to most definitely, and I would like to play for him one day. They are definitely up there in the rankings for me after this visit.’”
Matthews was one of 34 athletes invited to “The Next Ones” event in Las Vegas, which allowed him to connect with Tennessee quarterback commitment George MacIntyre.
“It went great,” MacIntyre recently told Volquest of his time with the four-star offensive tackle. “Jaelyne is a great guy. I felt like we built a good relationship just through texting, then I finally got to meet him in-person, and I am fired up about him. We didn’t do a ton of football drills, but you can tell he has a ton of potential. He has an athletic body for his size for sure. It was big talking to him. I think he loves Tennessee, and obviously, we love him.”
The other teams most strongly involved with Matthews’ recruitment continues to be Georgia and Maryland. The elite prospect is not rushing toward a decision, though.
“I will commit when I find the place that is home and the time is right,” he said in February.
