Tennessee commitment Joakim Dodson has been committed for a couple of months but has continued to field phone calls and take visits to schools like Georgia.

“It’s a family atmosphere and family feeling everytime I come here,” Dodson said. “I got to hang out with David Sanders, George (MacIntyre), Ja’Elyne Matthews. We all hung out last night and it was good getting those guys comfortable being here. Not so much about me because I’m already committed but just working on some other guys, Todah was fun seeing the wideouts make a lot of plays. It was fun being back up here. Everyone loves family and the prioritize family here and I’m all about that. It was just a great visit and I love it.”

So where does he stand coming off these most recent visits?

“I went to Georgia last week but at this point I think I’m done,” Dodson said. “I don’t think I’ll game anymore visits. This place is home for me.

“My relationship with the staff is second to none. They prioritize family and I’m not saying they don’t at other places but how long we have been at it, it’s like being in a long term relationship a girl. It’s like that. Nobody can come in and break that so late. It’s late to the party.”

He was able to hang out with several prospects in town and begin the recruiting process.

“David Sanders and Ja’Elyne Matthews for sure,” Dodson said. “I hung out with them all day yesterday. We ate, went to the baseball game together and did a lot of different stuff getting to know each other because that was my first time being with them. That’s the main two guys George and I are working on right now.”

This is his second visit the spring as he attended practice a few weeks ago and got to see what it was like to be a player at Tennessee.

“I was and went through meetings, and everything just trying to get a feel for it,” Dodson said. “Just getting the hands on experience, it was amazing.”

Watching coach Kelsey Pope, and the wide receivers. Make plays on Saturday was exciting for Dodson. He looks forward to being in the same position one year from now.

“It’s more unique,” Dodson said. “As a receiver you have to play with your eyes up. The offense is concept based with a lot of in and outs. You have to run your routes based on the defense and that’s not what a lot of colleges do. Sometimes you may go in depends on the safety or go deep. It’s so free and that’s what a receiver loves.
