The final On300 Rankings for the 2024 class have been revealed, and Tennessee finished the cycle with eight signees ranked inside of the top 300. Volquest takes a look at the final shake up here.

Newly minted 5-star

Jordan Ross has been sitting on the cusp of 5-star status for some time, and following a dominant showing at the Under Armour Game and Polynesian Bowl, the Alabama pass-rusher is now the No.7 overall prospect and top-rated EDGE in the class.

“We were able to see the vast majority in person at the national all-star games, and Jordan Ross looked to be the most complete prospect of the bunch,” On3 Director of Scouting and Recruiting Charles Power told Volquest. “I think Ross certainly has the look of an ascending prospect when you look at how he played as a senior, and additionally how he looked not only at the Under Armour game but also the Polynesian Bowl. Ross has continued to improve. He was productive as a senior at Vestavia Hills with 23 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. I think we saw him settle in and take off. A lot of his best plays as a junior were in pursuit where he showed off his athleticism and running sideline to sideline. I think he really developed as a pass rusher as a senior and that was fully on display.”

Vol signees that rose up the rankings

Parkview wide receiver Mike Matthews remained as Tennessee’s highest-rated offensive signee. He moved up eight spots to No.38 overall and is the seventh-highest rated receiver in the class.

Vols running back signee Peyton Lewis continued his ascent up the ranking and moved up over 60 spots in the rankings to No.67 overall and is rated as the fourth-highest running back in the final rankings.

Athlete signee Boo Carter once again rose up the rankings. Carter moved up over 50 spots and is now rated as the No.188 overall prospect and fourth-best ATH in the 2024 recruiting class.

EDGE signee Kellen Lindstrom moved up 45 spots following a strong showing during his senior season and is now the No.254 overall prospect in the On300. Lindstrom finished ranked as the 29th-best EDGE prospect in the class.

Offensive tackle signee Bennett Warren moved up just three spots to No.280 overall in the class. Warren finished as the 24th-highest rated offensive tackle in the class.

Vol signees that fell in the rankings

Cornerback signee Kaleb Beasley saw a slight drop in the rankings, as he fell 22 spots and is now rated as the No.125 overall prospect in the class. However, Beasley remains rated the 17th-best cornerback in the class.

Despite a strong senior season at Calvary Day School, Tennessee quarterback signee Jake Merklinger dropped out of the On300. He was previously rated as the No.222 overall prospect in the class. He did retain four-star status.

Linebacker Edwin Spillman and defensive lineman Jeremias Heard also dropped out of the On300 rankings as well.
