How he fits at Texas:

If I were coaching at some of the places that faced Chris Stewart last year I’d have had some strong words for the defensive coaches who routinely gave him free space in the slot. Stewart has impossible quickness when he has any amount of space to work in and routinely runs by quickly out-leveraged safeties on various vertical patterns. He’s hell on wheels catching screen passes or punts as well and would be a dynamite vertical weapon in the slot. He might be able to play outside as well but as long as high school defenses are giving him so much space to work with inside, if I were his coach I would have little interest in moving him outside to see how it went. – Ian Boyd

Coach Says:

Strengths — Comes off the line with smooth, elite acceleration to a legitimate straight line speed in a sprinter’s stride. Just blows past people with seemingly little effort. Primarily a slot player who threatens the deep zones and slants, he’s made a killing on run after catch opportunities. Excellent change of direction. Routes are reasonably good — he doesn’t bleed speed on his cuts and doesn’t round them off. Shows soft, natural hands and catches away from his body. Contact balance is excellent — if someone can even get a hand on him. Could be deadly in the screen game. Special teams potential early.

Areas for improvement – Not a lot of contested catches given his elite athleticism. Route running could use some refinement and he’ll need a more diverse route tree underneath.

How this affects Texas:

Texas looks finished at wide receiver for the Class of 2026 heading into the 2025 season. That’s not to say they aren’t still evaluating targets and committed prospects, but the second commitment in UT’s 2026 cycle is still hanging in strong. Joined by Jermain “Batman” Bishop and Kohen Brown, it gives Chris Jackson a solid four-star trio with unique qualities. – Justin Wells
