The No. 105 ranked prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking flipping from Florida ascended Texas to the No. 7 ranked class from No. 11 spot.

Mack initially committed to Florida in August over Texas, Florida State and LSU. Texas defensive backs coach Terry Joseph continued to #RecruitThroughTheWhistle in the Mack recruitment, an aspect of recruiting under Steve Sarkisian Texas fans have gotten accustomed to.

The No. 4 ranked prospect in the Pelican State continues a run of highly ranked commitments for Steve Sarkisian and staff since August. The Longhorns have added only five-star and four-star ranked prospects since the calendar turned to August.

The run began with 5-star EDGE Colin Simmons August 10. Next up was 4-star EDGE Zina Umeozulu the first week of September. Umeozulu was followed in September by 5-star right tackle Brandon Baker. The lone October commitment was a big one in 5-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

The 2022 class was headlined by 5-stars and starting offensive linemen Kelvin Banks and D.J. Campbell. The 2023 class was headlined by Arch Manning, Anthony Hill, Cedric Baxter Jr. and Johntay Cook.
