Notes and takeaways

It’s interesting that offensive lineman Alani Noa isn’t listed on the availability report after he left last week’s game against Nebraska. If he’s ready to go, we could see the same starting offensive line in back to back games for the first time in a while.

Wide receiver Tanook Hines shows up on the questionable list and will be another guy to watch during warmups. If he can’t go or is less than 100%, would USC turn to Prince Strachan as the third receiver in this game? Strachan hasn’t played since suffering an injury in the season-opener.

On the plus side, true freshman defensive tackle Floyd Boucard has been upgraded from “out” last week to “questionable” this week. He’s shown some pass rush flashes when he’s been available and is going to be a big piece of the defensive line next year. Getting him on the field with fellow defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart is one of those things that makes USC better this year and for the future.

Season-opening starting center Kilian O’Connor remains questionable. He was in uniform at Nebraska for the first time since suffering an injury against Illinois but was clearly there in an emergency capacity. He warmed up as the No. 3 center.
