Through a temporary restraining order, Bediako can play this Saturday against Tennessee. Further eligibility will require approval in his preliminary injunction hearing, which is scheduled for Jan. 27, the date of Alabama’s following game against Missouri.

I love that we’re all having to use the word “temporary” here, because that’s what the ruling actually states. I’m sure there will be people questioning if this means the ncaa can come back next month and rule him ineligible. Technically they can, but considering Tyon Grant Foster has been playing all season for Gonzaga on a temporary injunction that was given in October, it’s doubtful that they will. They’d just get sued again and the same judge would grant another injunction. Edit to clarify: Blake reported that the injunction hasn’t been granted yet for Bediako. This is just a restraining order allowing him to play Saturday. The injunction hearing will be next Wednesday.

Ah, so he hasn’t actually been granted the injunction yet? Interesting. So he could theoretically play Saturday and then it all gets shut down next Tuesday. That would be pretty hilarious to beat Tennessee with him and then that’s his only appearance.

Yes it’s a weird situation since he declared for the draft and went to the G league, but he’s 23 and would be in his 5th year, which is nothing crazy by today’s standards.
