Weird recruitment

Sounds like Mingo is trying to up his price.

Very strange recruitment — hope our staff isn’t: 1) breaking the bank for him and 2) giving him some sort of choose us now or we are on to the portal guard options.

Getting Mingo would be great. I little discouraging that Carolina isn't in the mix for any of the eight uncommitted burger boys.

I keep forgetting he exists until there's another article about him. If he's good, and we want him, I hope he comes here. That's about the extent of my interest until he steps onto campus. Heels. Always.

Really hope the staff has a plan B in place. This one smells fishy.

I think @Joe Tipton has been pretty clear that isn’t the case. I feel like this may have more to do with coaching staff stability.

Seems like a simple explanation. He wants Carolina but there is uncertainty looming. Makes sense for him to wait a few weeks to see how Carolina and HD's job security are looking before deciding.

Wonder if there is uncertainty from the staff due to his injuries and inability to evaluate for a long time. They are obviously still recruiting him, going to his games, but perhaps they are not pushing all their chips in.

Down to 4… commitment announcement announced.. but maybe the door is open for other schools. wtf are we doing here

The longer this goes the more worrisome it becomes. Not sure I like negotiating with high school players that aren't top level talents. You're going to pay top money to get somebody proven at the college level

Personally, I’d rather get someone thru the portal. We aren’t going to have time to wait for someone to get healthy and adjust to college ball after basically sitting out a year. There’s a good chance we could have an entirely new roster (with Dixon / Stevenson as the best bets to stay)

That perspective makes sense, but in today's world, how much does a commitment even mean? If he commits to UNC and then we have a coaching chance, he easily could flip to another school.

This one is simple to figure out. Dixon was basically recently named our starting point guard so Mingo just wants to have a few games watching him as a starter to see how he would fit alongside him and make sure it’s a good fit. That’s all there is to it . ;-)

Anyone know his stats since coming back from injury? Saw a couple of games where he had limited minutes coming back but was wondering if anyone has intel on his games since
