Yeah- that’s because their religion pushes that. No thanks.

Is her name Hermana or is that just a reference to “sister” pope? I honestly believe Mormons don’t mix with the ky culture. I know people who had no problem voting for Obama in KY because Romney was Mormon. This is the kind of stuff that ky fans don’t want to see. Kentucky is a very very devout Christian place and they will tell you Mormon isn’t Christian. To walk past this like it has no bearing on recruiting on acceptance of pope. Well it is a barrier. Cal did a lot of faith based stuff Christian stuff with his players. He drew primarily Christian kids. There is a disconnect there with how pope can relate to ordinary players. Half will say they don’t care but if even a quarter of recruits are turned off by that well at UK we need access to 100% or recruits. Secular is the way to go but every coach is an individual with their belief system. I think the religion issue definitely works against pope.

Yeah, seriously he shouldn't have even been there at the airport. He should be watching film and figuring out how to motivate these guys for the first half. He has like four daughters. It's not like one returning is a big deal when you have three more. I think his family should treat him being the coach at UK like he were on a mission in another country. One phone call a week so he can focus on stuff that's more important, like 18 year olds winning a game and not something stupid like his family.

I know you're being sarcastic, but it's actually pretty much how he should be treating this. He has an off season coming up when he can spend more time with them. During the middle of season, that honestly hasn't gone that well, before a pivotal home game, isn't the time to be fooling around.

How is that Vandy performance not a Mormon doing something bad to me? I've never been embarrassed that badly before by a Muslim or a Jew or a Catholic.

Exactly. This board has so many ridiculous posters I'm barely hanging on. The negativity from these sad people is getting to be too much

That's bad timing. Wait and visit with her after the game tonight. Coming from a 3rd world country , she's likely been exposed to God knows what, and is likely capable of spreading some shit to her dad and then the team. Again, this just wasn't wise.

Since Pope has class, I don’t. Anyone who thinks any sport is more important than family can Go To Hell. Your fucked up

Can we all be grateful that Avery is back safe and sound from a foreign country after a 15 month mission and having survived an emergency appendectomy in this country? That could have been a very disastrous situation but, being the parent of a daughter, I thank God for keeping her alive and I’m sure that Mark and his wife are all extremely grateful. Happy for them all!

Man stop it...what F'ing religion is Rick Pitino? It didn't stop him from having an open brothel for recruiting purposes. How about Billy Clyde? There's a man of high character, they love the Hell out of him at every bar in Lexington. I don't give two squirts of duck p*** about what his religious beliefs are. I really don't care if a 17 year old likes them or not. He is obviously a family man of high character and a good role model.
