Gavin McKenna Facing Felony Charge After Incident On January 31 | Onward State
He's already been down trending as the #1 pick anyways - this probably just seals the fate.

I saw him being interviewed during the outdoor game, and I absolutely said to my wife, “can you believe that guy is a star hockey player, he looks like he sells hot tub chemicals at a pool store”. How soft are you to get your jaw broken by that guy? By that girl arm?Martone >>>> McKenna

I mean in reality - for any attorneys on here - question for you - I have to believe this gets pled down to a much lessor charge, and nothing really changes for McKenna.

I'm also not advocating that athletes just break jaws - but why do I have a feeling some drunk dude was being a smart ass just getting in his face because of who he was.

TroubleWSnap said:I'm surprised if the guy didn't get so close to him he just fell down with all the dives the Penn State hockey team takes..... I would think a normal coach would suspend him. Gadowsky though has a bit of arrogance to him, so we'll see. I told someone the other day that the PSU program has the arrogance of Michigan with the history of Augustana.Do you think Pegula writes a check to get McKenna back on the ice?

A friend of mine just texted me saying he doesn't expect the hockey program or Gadowsky to step in and do anything (he's not a fan of Gadowsky) - unless the University itself steps in. Said he kind of expects them to say no comment - let the facts play out in court, we continue to support him, etc... Especially since he's only going to be on campus for about another month - maybe two if they go on a run again.

Per PSU mod:
“Buzz:
Other guy was verbally assaulting Gavin's mom, who was there - families were in town for the game, bunch of the team was there.
Everyone trying to diffuse and walk away. Kid wouldn't stop, wouldn't let it go, kept going after Gavin's mom.
Gavin knocked him out.

MSUStu said:Yes, typically. Depends on the facts and circumstances. A felony charge would not be made lightly. He should be highly motivated to try to pled down from a felony. A felony conviction will have U.S. immigration consequences.I mean in reality - for any attorneys on here - question for you - I have to believe this gets pled down to a much lessor charge, and nothing really changes for McKenna.
