Is this for real? I saw him being interviewed during the outdoor game, and I absolutely said to my wife, “can you believe that guy is a star hockey player, he looks like he sells hot tub chemicals at a pool store”. How soft are you to get your jaw broken by that guy? By that girl arm?

I mean in reality - for any attorneys on here - question for you - I have to believe this gets pled down to a much lessor charge, and nothing really changes for McKenna.

Do you think Pegula writes a check to get McKenna back on the ice?

I'm also not advocating that athletes just break jaws - but why do I have a feeling some drunk dude was being a smart ass just getting in his face because of who he was.

Need to know the facts of the case, the prosecutor, county, judge, etc. But - assuming McKenna doesn't have a criminal history and this was one punch that a broke a jaw... probably probation, counseling, community service, etc. Maybe a short period in jail.

I'm surprised if the guy didn't get so close to him he just fell down with all the dives the Penn State hockey team takes..... I would think a normal coach would suspend him. Gadowsky though has a bit of arrogance to him, so we'll see. I told someone the other day that the PSU program has the arrogance of Michigan with the history of Augustana.

A friend of mine just texted me saying he doesn't expect the hockey program or Gadowsky to step in and do anything (he's not a fan of Gadowsky) - unless the University itself steps in. Said he kind of expects them to say no comment - let the facts play out in court, we continue to support him, etc... Especially since he's only going to be on campus for about another month - maybe two if they go on a run again.

It's a FELONY charge. If they let him just play with zero repercussions everyone, holy smokes. Edit: At this time, I'm on his side if the story getting pumped out is true. Let him play!

I doubt an NHL team will let him play without rehabbing

Gotta imagine he's going to be paying that kids medical bills...? Kid will most likely have his jaw wired shut for almost a year.

Sounds like Patty Kane back in the day, beat up a cabbie or something. Headache for PSU but sounds like boys will be boys.

Well if you donated 750k to pay his NIL to play at Penn State - I'm guessing you are pushing the team to play him or you aren't getting another dime. Unfortunately, money talks. Plus they play Michigan next (PSU is off this week).

Ya, when they were highlighting state Penn and interviewing McKenna during our beaver stadium game last week, he couldn’t have come off as more of a pompous, arrogant douche bag so this is completely unsurprising.

Per PSU mod: “Buzz: Other guy was verbally assaulting Gavin's mom, who was there - families were in town for the game, bunch of the team was there. Everyone trying to diffuse and walk away. Kid wouldn't stop, wouldn't let it go, kept going after Gavin's mom. Gavin knocked him out. 🤷‍♂️”

Yes, typically. Depends on the facts and circumstances. A felony charge would not be made lightly. He should be highly motivated to try to pled down from a felony. A felony conviction will have U.S. immigration consequences.

Verbal abuse does not give one a legal excuse to assault the verbal abuser.
