The transfer portal has become one of the key ways that teams build rosters. It allows teams to flip rosters quickly and fill in places of need. So, ESPN decided to rank the Top 50 transfers in college football for the 2022 season.

Quarterback tends to be the position that most people think of in the transfer portal first. That makes sense because of the nature of how we think about quarterbacks. They play the most important position on the field and get a disproportionate amount of blame and credit for team success. However, quarterback isn’t the only position. So, ESPN made sure that every transfer player, regardless of position, could be ranked.

Importantly, ESPN isn’t only allowing players who transferred this season. Instead, they simply had to transfer at some point in their college career and be one of the best this season.
