Week 5 Resume Rankings - Andy Staples

With a month’s worth of games now in the books, there are plenty of statistical standouts across the country at virtually every position. Nowhere is that more clear than receiver, where players have helped offenses chunk out the production at an astounding rate as they jockey for position on On3’s wide receiver rankings.

The top of our list continues to have the same few stars it began the year with, led by Ohio State‘s Marvin Harrison Jr.

But there are plenty of other names working their way into the mix of On3’s top 25 receiver rankings. Let’s take a look at who they are below.

1. Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State

The Ohio State standout had a relatively quiet game in his team’s big win over Notre Dame this weekend, recording just three catches for 32 yards.

Still, there’s no denying Harrison’s sheer talent at the position. On the season he has logged 17 catches for 336 yards and three touchdowns.

2. Rome Odunze, Washington

Despite hauling in his fewest catches yet, Odunze had an absolutely monster game for the Huskies. He finished a win over California with five catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a touchdown on an 83-yard punt return.

On the season Odunze has already recorded 27 catches for 544 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also scored a rushing touchdown and a punt return touchdown.

3. Malik Nabers, LSU

Nabers turned in a terrific performance for the second straight week, hitting paydirt multiple times yet again. He finished a win over Arkansas with eight catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns, keeping his lofty place near the top of the receiver rankings for this week.

On the year he has 32 catches for 523 yards and five touchdowns.

4. Keon Coleman, Florida State

After having minimal impact in a game against Boston College a week ago, Coleman made up for it in a big way against Clemson. He recorded what would be the game-winning catch in overtime, finishing with five catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Coleman has shown at this point that he can absolutely be counted on in the clutch.

5. Xavier Legette, South Carolina

Legette had his biggest day yet, though it came on his fewest number of catches so far this season. He turned in five catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns, which included touchdown receptions of 75 and 76 yards.

In four games that gives Legette 27 catches for 556 yards and three touchdowns.

6. Xavier Worthy, Texas

It was a relatively quiet week for Worthy, one that was enough to keep him steady in the receiver rankings but not enough to give him a boost up. He finished with three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown against Baylor, his lowest catch total of the season.

Still, Worthy has recorded 19 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns this fall. And his big-play potential probably exceeds that level of production.

7. Evan Stewart, Texas A&M

After missing the game in Week 3, Stewart was back in action in a game against Auburn and he didn’t disappoint. He immediately found the end zone and finished the game with three catches for 50 yards and the score.

To date, Stewart has 22 catches for 207 yards and three touchdowns.

8. Luther Burden III, Missouri

Burden absolutely went off in a close win over Memphis this weekend, hauling down 10 passes for 177 yards. That output brought Burden’s season production over the 500-yard mark.

Burden has recorded at least 100 yards receiving in each of the last three games and only missed the 100-yard mark in the opener by four yards.

9. Tory Horton, Colorado State

Horton has produced insane catch numbers through the first month of the season. He missed the Week 2 contest but has otherwise averaged more than 11 catches per game the rest of the year.

He had 10 catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns in a win over MTSU this weekend, bringing his season totals to 35 catches for 313 yards and three touchdowns.

10. Roman Wilson, Michigan

After a three-touchdown season opener and a score in every game since, Wilson didn’t find the end zone for the first time all season on Saturday.

He still managed to tally three catches for 59 yards, narrowly holding onto the final spot in the top 10 of our wide receiver rankings going into Week 5.
