Angeli is the latest high-profile quarterback to announce a partnership with Powerade. The company announced deals with Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier ahead of the 2025 season as it continued its investment in the NIL space.
“I love Steve,” Syracuse head coach Fran Brown said after Angeli’s injury. “I’m so thankful for all that he’s done. Steve will always be the leader of our football team. We’ve just got to support and rally behind him to make sure he’s straight. … He’s tough. That’s our guy.”

Angeli transferred to Syracuse from Notre Dame after spring practice. He made a major impact on the Fighting Irish’s run to the national championship game last year, stepping in and delivering against Penn State after Riley Leonard missed a drive with an injury. Angeli went 6-for-7 for 44 yards to help set up a crucial field goal before halftime.
Angeli is the latest addition to Powerade’s athlete roster after it announced its “It Takes More” campaign prior to the 2025 college football season. In addition to Leavitt and Nussmeier, the brand also signed Georgia running back Nate Frazier and Iowa safety Xavier Nwankpa as part of the initiative.
As an extension to the campaign, Powerade also teamed up with more than 35 NIL athletes from colleges on top of the NIL deals with the four college football stars. To further support the campaign, the brand is hosting a “Tailgate Tour” with on-site game day activations featuring hydration stations, prizes and giveaways, and exclusive athlete appearances at several top campuses across the country, including LSU, Georgia, Arizona State and Iowa.
