Minnesota picks up commitment from WR Quayd Hendryx
The Minnesota Golden Gophers may have lost on Saturday afternoon to the Northwestern Wildcats at Wrigley Field 38-35, but the Gophers’ day wasn’t a complete loss as the program picked up a commitment on the recruiting trail.
On Saturday evening, the Gophers received a commitment from wide receiver Quayd Hendryx, a former UConn commitment.
Hendryx is ranked by the Rivals Industry Rankings as a three-star prospect and the No. 808 player nationally as well as the No. 122 wide receiver and No. 16 player in the state of New Jersey.
Gophers Nation reported recently that the Gophers hosted Hendryx on an official visit during their bye week earlier this month.
Hendryx for Winslow Township recorded 32 receptions for 579 yards and nine touchdowns. A three-sport athlete, Hendryx is notably the state champion at both the 100m (10.99) and 200m (21.47).
Minnesota entered the day prior to Hendryx’s commitment with the No. 31 recruiting class nationally, up 20 spots from last year’s rank of No. 51. They also own the No. 9 class in the Big Ten. He is overall commitment No. 31 for the Golden Gophers.
He is the fifth wide receiver commitment of the cycle for the Gophers joining Rico Blassingame, Hayden Moore, Braiden Stevens, and Derrick Salley.
