Texas Tech started the 2025 season on a high note, blasting Arkansas-Pine Bluff 67-7 in front of over 30 recruits who were expected in attendance.

We caught up with several of the prospects for their reaction to their day in Lubbock.

2026 Idalou (TX) athlete AJ Huddleston: “The visit was great! I had a great time! I loved getting to watch the players during pregame and be down there on the field with them!”

2028 Amarillo (TX) Tascosa athlete Trainance Posey Jr: “It was a really good experience. The highlight for me was being able to see the facility and walk around it. Being on the field up close, seeing the players, and especially meeting the coaches most of all the head coach was unforgettable. Having those conversations and taking in the whole vibe at the game was just awesome to be around.”

2027 El Paso (TX) El Dorado quarterback Brycen Booth: “Definitely loved it! The atmosphere and environment was great. The game was awesome as well. 10/10 experience.”

2026 Comanche (TX) athlete CT Buford: “It was really good, I loved everything about it. I would say my favorite part was watching the pregame on the field, I knew a couple of them so I got to say hi and stuff. It was really fun even though we had to leave during halftime.”

2027 Van Alstyne (TX) wide receiver Tim Moore: “It was awesome! Definitely loved their atmosphere of the game and how they played as a team and the facilities were 2nd to none.”

2026 Melissa (TX) athlete Dalton Dababneh: “The facilities were really impressive, and the crowd was exciting. Loved the sideline energy and the environment. Really liked the high speed offense with a solid mix of run & pass. The only bad part was the crazy storm that rolled in.”

2027 San Angelo (TX) Central outside linebacker Tucker Beaty: “The visit was amazing, facilities and stadium were awesome. I loved watching the defense and the atmosphere of the game.”

2027 Comanche (TX) quarterback Cooper Welch: “It was great! I really like the stadium and facilities. The highlight was me getting to be on the field and seeing up close like that.”

2027 Amarillo (TX) Palo Duro quarterback Julian Reese II: “It was a good experience. Wish I could have talked with the coaches more but I guess the weather delay messed it up. I feel confident that I could play there. A couple players talked to me afterwards and asked if they offered me yet. Highlights were talking with players after the game. Coach Leftwich knew my name without seeing my name tag. Getting the win. Fans telling me, they hope I commit there. How the hostess treated my baby brother.”

2027 Gunter (TX) offensive tackle Caleb Siler: “I had an awesome time visiting Texas Tech. I got to meet Coach McGuire and spend some time with O-line coach, Coach Clay McGuire. Honestly, my favorite part was just watching the guys warm up before the game. I’m 6’8″ and about 275 pounds, so I don’t usually feel small, but their line was impressive to say the least. It’s easy to see why Tech is getting so much talent, it was a really cool experience!”

2027 San Angelo (TX) Central offensive lineman Ethan Boyd: “I thought the visit was great, and the highlight of the visit for me was the atmosphere. I loved all the people there, and the fans. I just thought it was an amazing place to be at, I truly loved visiting yesterday.”

2027 Wichita Falls (TX) Legacy defensive back Dakendrick Jones: “I loved it. The facility, the coaches, the tour staff, everyone just had good energy even the players. The band was nice and the lights when they scored. I had a great time, I’ll love to come back another time.”

2027 Hawley (TX) wide receiver Camden Ables: “It was really good, the facilities are really nice and the atmosphere is crazy.”

2026 Brock (TX) athlete Colt Matlock: “It was good. Got see the new facilities and talk to the safety coach and defensive coordinator. Tech ended up beating them pretty bad but the environment was great!”

2026 Levelland (TX) offensive lineman Casen Potter: “The food was amazing and the atmosphere was awesome as well as the hospitality I had there.”

2026 Wolfforth (TX) Frenship defensive end Hudson Page: “It was great! The hospitality was great and the facilities were great per usual. It was really cool getting to see some of my old teammates play as well”
