The Florida State football staff may have landed another of its quarterbacks of the future on Saturday, as 2025 signal-caller Tramell Jones Jr. told Warchant and other media outlets he has committed to the Seminoles.

Jones, who stars at Jacksonville Mandarin, was one of a slew of top prospects who attended Florida State’s spring scrimmage on Saturday morning.

“I’m home,” Jones said of his commitment to Florida State.

He is the second commitment for the 2025 class for the Seminoles and joins 2024 quarterback commit Luke Kromenhoek.

Jones, who is not yet rated by On3 but checks in at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds going into his junior year, said he knew Florida State was the best fit for him from the first time he stepped foot on campus.

“It was not like any other college,” he said.

Jones worked out in front of Florida State’s coaches during camp last summer and said he loved the way head coach Mike Norvell and quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz worked to help him develop. He said the Seminoles also have told him he’s their No. 1 QB target for 2025.

“He wants to coach me,” Jones said of Norvell. “He wants to push me to be the best, and I want to be the best to ever come out of Florida State.”

Now that he has committed to Florida State, Jones said he is already working on four-star WR Jaime Ffrench, one of his teamates at Mandarin.

“I’m on him like white on rice,” the quarterback said. “I’m gonna be on him. I know he has a lot of other schools that are on him, but he knows where I want him at.”

Along with the fact that he can’t wait to play in the Florida State offense, Jones said he loves the idea of being the leader of the Seminoles’ 2025 recruiting class.

“I want to lead the class,” he said. “I want to be their leader. I want to recruit. I just want to have the best guys around me to be successful.”

Jones, who said he actually made his decision a little over a week ago, also went in-depth on his decision with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

“What ultimately stood out to me about FSU were the games,” Jones said. “They were exciting, the fans were crazy and I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the Doak Campbell Stadium. Then the ability to develop quarterbacks and turn a quarterback into a Heisman Trophy contender for next season really stood out to me. The relationship that I have created with the staff is not like any other. I know Coach [Mike] Norvell is creating something special in Tallahassee and I want to be a part of it.”
