Georgia added the commitment of 2022 four-star offensive lineman Earnest Greene at the Adidas All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Saturday. He chooses the Bulldogs over Alabama, Ohio State and Texas among others.

Greene, ranked the No. 60 overall player and No. 5 IOL according to On3 Sports Consensus, signed with the Bulldogs during the Early Signing Period but waited to make his announcement on national television. He will enroll early at Georgia next week and participate in spring practice with the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-3.5, 350-pound St. John Bosco prospect was named one of the top performers on day three at the All-American Bowl by On3’s Charles Power and spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons about the Bulldogs.

“When I went to Georgia for the South Carolina game, it was my first time for a game in a college town,” Greene told Simmons. “It blew me away. I had not seen anything like it. In Athens on Saturdays in the fall, there is one thing to do – watch Georgia football. Seeing all the tailgating, all the fans everywhere, and just the atmosphere was crazy. Being from Los Angeles, people have a lot of things to do on a Saturday. People like different teams, they are into different things, but in Athens, it is all Georgia. It was awesome to see.”

“Georgia runs a really good offensive system,” Greene continued. “Their scheme is balanced, and it prepares offensive linemen for the NFL. They had Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson, two offensive tackles, go in the first round in the same year a couple of years ago, so that stands out. Georgia is a physical team and I saw that in the South Carolina game. I like the system, I like how they coach their offensive linemen, and I like how they develop their players.”

Georgia offensive line coach Matt Luke is listed as the primary recruiter for Greene, and he couldn’t have spoken more highly about his future position coach.

“I talk to coach Luke a lot and we have really established a good relationship,” Greene said. “Coach Luke is not like a used cars salesman. He is as genuine as they come. What he says is true, and I like that a lot. He is not just a good offensive line coach, but he is a family guy. We don’t talk football all the time, and coach Luke is a good guy. I am a film junkie, and we watched my tape, tape on Andrew Thomas, tape on Laremy Tunsil, and I just want to learn and listen to his coaching. He’s coached some very good offensive linemen, he knows the position, and we talk a lot about technique. We talk footwork, blocking, and things like that. We have a good connection there too.”

“Georgia is a great school with a lot to offer,” Greene summarized. “They have great coaches, they compete at a high level, they have a great business program. I love their weight and nutrition program, they develop players, and it is an awesome atmosphere. Both of my visits to Georgia have shown me a lot. Not only do all those things I mentioned stand out. But you have to think a little about NIL now, too, and being not far from Atlanta is something I look at, too.”

With the addition of Greene, Georgia’s recruiting class is now at 24 signees, ranking No. 3 in the country behind Texas A&M and Alabama. The Bulldogs signed four other offensive linemen: Aliou Bah, Jacob Hood, Drew Bobo and Griffin Scroggs.
