Where players rank for each service is one of the most subjective parts of the recruiting industry, but when those stars do align, it’s a clear indicator of the level of talent the prospect possesses. Prior to today, the Georgia Bulldogs held the commitments of two such players in the Class of 2024, known as Five-Star Plus+ prospects in the On3 ranking. Now, cornerback Ellis Robinson has climbed into that elite air, joining fellow Dawg pledges Dylan Raiola and Justin Williams.

Now ranked as the nation’s No. 4 overall player and the No. 1 cornerback in the country by all four major recruiting media services, Robinson saw his ranking rise in the latest update to the On3 Industry Ranking coming up from No. 11 overall in the country.

It was the case before Robinson’s rise and remains the case still, Georgia is the only school in the country with multiple five-star plus+ commits. Raiola (No. 2), Robinson (No. 4) and Williams (No. 10) all rank inside the top 10.

Other five-star plus+ players that are currently committed are as follows: Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State), Williams Nwaneri (Missouri), Julian Sayin (Alabama), Colin Simmons (Texas), KJ Bolden (Florida State) and Dylan Stewart (South Carolina).

Robinson, who’s been committed to Georgia since early February, has been a crown jewel in the class for some time and over the summer announced he was planning to shut down his recruitment and forgo any other official visits.

“Wanna thank all the schools that continue to recruit me but after talking with my family I have decided not to take anymore official visits,” Robinson tweeted. “Time to lock in and get ready for the season!!”

Currently, Ellis Robinson is one of two defensive backs committed for Georgia’s Class of 2024, joining four-star prospect Demello Jones.

On3 Scouting Report on Ellis Robinson

“Ball-hawking cornerback with plus length, ball skills and refined movement skills. Has shown the ability to make high-level plays on the ball throughout his high school career. Measured close to 6-feet, 175 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length for the position with arms that measure a shade under 33 inches. Dominated competition in New York’s Catholic league as a sophomore, bringing in eight interceptions. Made several impressive, acrobatic picks. Moved to IMG Academy as a junior, where he looked like the top defensive back on the Ascenders’ loaded roster. Made strides as a junior relative to his technical skills. Pairs his length and ball skills with refined footwork. Understands routes and generally stays in phase. Embraces matchups against top receivers and is willing to get physical at the line of scrimmage. Also tests as a good athlete in the combine setting. While his speed is good, he does not register as elite for the position. Can continue getting stronger and adding good mass once in a college strength program.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings, on Ellis Robinson
