What a week it’s been for Georgia football, capping it off on Saturday with the commitment of four-star offensive tackle Marques Easley.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 242 overall prospect per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, Easley becomes Georgia’s twenty-sixth commitment of the cycle.

The 6-foot-5, 345-pound lineman hails from Kankakee High in Kakankee, Illinois.

While Georgia was left out of his final three when released, the Bulldogs were considered a frontrunner for some time, even after that announcement.

Easley spent his official visit to Athens the first weekend of June, but the interest was quite clear even prior to that trip.

“Georgia is Georgia. It speaks for itself,” Easley told On3’s Chad Simmons in February. “They are the top dog in college football right now and they recruit top dogs to their school. I want to see what it is like there. I didn’t grow up watching college football, NFL football or anything like that, but I know about Georgia. They have been dominant the last two years and have won two national championships. Now I get to get down there and see what it is like.”

A family-first approach with Easley appealed heavily throughout, as well.

“I am talking to offensive line coach Stacy Searels almost every day now,” Easley told Simmons. “He is not only talking to me, but he is talking to my mom, my older brother and even my younger brother that is five years old. Not all coaches get to know my family, so that means a lot. Since the offer, coach Searels has really done a great job. He has made sure to show me that he wants to get to know. That means a lot to me.”

Marques Easley ranks as the nation’s No. 18 offensive tackle in the Class of 2024 per the On3 Industry Ranking.

He is Georgia’s sixth offensive line commitment of the cycle.

In what was supposed to be a difficult cycle to reel in top offensive line talent, Georgia has produced in spades when it comes to the spot.

Easley is the latest member and may well be the final piece, but the Dawgs have landed three other four-star prospects to go along with him in Michael Uini, Daniel Calhoun, and Nyier Daniels.

Additionally, the Bulldogs hold the commitments of two three-star offensive line prospects in the cycle with Malachi Toliver and Marcus Harrison.
