Georgia picked up a massive commitment a few days ago and it took flipping the prospect from another program. Judson (Converse, Tex.) wide receiver Anthony Evans flipped to UGA from Oklahoma, giving the Bulldogs their fourth wide receiver pledge in the 2023 class.

While not the biggest guy at 5-foot-10 160 pounds, Anthony Evans is one of the most explosive and twitchy players in the country. He’s ranked as the nation’s No. 256 overall prospect and No. 34 receiver per the On3 Consensus. His junior highlights show that he’s often a touchdown waiting to happen.

Anthony Evans has clocked a blazing fast 10.27 seconds in the 100 meters. That’s better than current Bulldog wideout Arian Smith, who has since run a 10.18 for UGA’s track team, ran at the high school level.

“It’s a dream come true, honestly. My mom is from Savannah and is a die-hard Dawg fan for as long as I can remember,” Anthony Evans told DawgsHQ after receiving his offer from the Bulldogs. “Not many kids from San Antonio get these kinds of opportunities, and I’m truly ecstatic. I was there with my mom. It was unbelievable being able to see Sanford Stadium in person instead of TV. I toured the facility and watched the scrimmage with Quincy Carter.”

It appeared as if Georgia had lost Anthony Evans back August. He committed to the Sooners about a week before the start of the 2022 football season. Georgia stayed in contact and got him back on campus for the biggest game in Sanford Stadium as the then No. 3-ranked Georgia Bulldogs hosted No. 1 Tennessee.

Georgia dominated that game with three first half touchdowns and two of those were through the air. It wasn’t long after that game had wrapped that the buzz started to pick up on a potential flip. Anthony Evans made it official about three weeks after that visit.
