Georgia tight end target Duce Robinson has great hands. But this isn’t just a possession tight end. Duce has some jets, too.

With a little more than a week before the late* National Signing Day (original date, but the second signing day in the cycle), Robinson created a little buzz at the Polynesian Bowl.

Tennessee quarterback signee Nico Iamaleava earned the MVP at the high school all-star game.

Here’s one of the plays – a deep ball to Duce Robinson – that helped make that possible.

If Iamaleava keeps making these throws in college, it will go a long way in justifying Josh Heupel’s new $9M contract extension.

Yes, Duce Robinson would fit in just fine at tight end university

His current RPM has Duce Robinson at a 61.8% chance to sign with Georgia on National Signing Day.

There is no replacing Darnell Washington‘s frame and skill set. Still, Todd Hartley‘s tight end room wasn’t going to miss too much of a beat with Bowers, Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, and Pearce Spurlin.

Add Robinson, and there’s no disputing which school has the best selection of tight ends in the country.

On3’s scouting report lists Jimmy Graham as a possible comparison for Robinson’s game:

Duce Robinson has wide receiver athleticism and movement skills in a tight end’s body. His play style and physical traits remind us of Jimmy Graham. Both were also stars in other sports, with Graham going to play college basketball at Miami, while Robinson is a MLB Draft prospect. Robinson is a top football recruit, while Graham switched to the sport full-time in college.”

Our own Jake Rowe sees more Kyle Pitts in his game.

Whoever you happen to see, you’re looking at a really good football player when you watch the five-star tight end run past you to make a catch like this:

He’s clearly on Kirby Smart’s radar

Smart visited Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley on their show, ‘The Steam Room.’

Even though Smart can’t recruit through the media, he did make a mention of the fact that he knows Duce Robinson’s father, Dominic Robinson, who was also a two-sport athlete at Florida State.

The younger Robinson may have a baseball / football decision to make as it relates to his athletic career.

Before that, the Arizona kid has a chance to get a whole bunch of Dawgs barking in Georgia.
