Georgia has three running backs committed in the Class of 2024, the No. 1 ranked group in the country set to start signing next week, but it was a 2025 commit that made headlines on Wednesday. In the final day of action at the GHSA State Championship Games, Bo Walker helped lead Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.) to a title game win over Savannah Christian with a pair of trips to the end zone.

Walker put the Saints up 14-7 in the first quarter has he ran up the gut from 10 yards out. Then, later in the game, he housed one from 52 yards out as he showed off his breakaway speed, outrunning a Savannah Christian defense that features 2025 five-star plus+ and fellow Georgia prospect Elijah Griffin. That made it 35-14 Cedar Grove.

Cedar Grove would go on to win 49-28, a year after falling in the title game last year but two years removed from a championship game win with the help of CJ Madden and Christen Miller, both of whom would end up at Georgia.

Miller, who emerged as one of Georgia’s top defensive linemen this season, was on hand to support the Saints at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Walker is listed as a top-200 player according to rankings by ESPN and a three-star in the On3 Industry Ranking. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound back committed to Georgia in October.

As a freshman at Cedar Grove, Walker shared carries and toted the football 61 times for 420 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. He also caught five passes for 121 yards and a score. Stats for sophomore and junior seasons are not listed, but highlights for the second-year campaign can be found here.

“Walker isn’t tall but he isn’t small either. He’s listed at around 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds. He uses every bit of it to act as a punisher,” DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson wrote in an assessment after seeing him play in the quarterfinals. “Walker has explosiveness in and out of his cuts. He stops and starts with the best of them. Walker is a patient runner as well. When plays weren’t there on Friday night, he put his head down and got the positive yards. He runs with body lean to lends itself to him having positive gains every time he touches the ball. Walker then can accelerate and turn a crack into a big play. There is a punishing aspect to his game as well. Multiple times on Friday night Walker slowed up toward the end of a run, before running through the relaxing defender for a few more yards.”
