Rapid recap: Keenan Garber scores first TD in Kansas State uniform

Howard’s Kansas State record
Kansas State quarterback Will Howard set the school record for most passing touchdowns in a career in the dominating win over Baylor. He broke it on a second quarter pass to Christian Moore, which was Moore’s first career touchdown.
The senior signal caller called it an unbelievable honor to hold the record. He also was quick to give credit to all of his teammates and shared that he would not be able to do it without them. The record still has not sunk in for the Pennsylvania native and it means the world to him.
Receiver Phillip Brooks added how proud he was of Howard. The super senior wide receiver pointed out how the K-State quarterback has overcame so much in his career and fought through a lot of adversity to reach the highs.
Big game for Stufflebean
Defensive lineman Cody Stufflebean had a breakout game for Kansas State against the Bears as well. The junior had two sacks in the win and they were the first two of his career. Stufflebean also forced a fumble that was recovered by Desmond Purnell and returned for a score in the first quarter.
As a McPherson, Kansas native, Stufflebean noted it was cool to have his first two career sacks at home in Bill Snyder Family Stadium. He also added a recruiting pitch to all Sunflower State natives and wants to have more Kansas players on the team.

Garber’s first touchdown
Speaking of Kansas natives, Keenan Garber had his first career touchdown as well. It is interesting to note the former K-State wide receiver’s first career touchdown came on the defensive side of the ball on a pick six. It has been almost a year since the Lawrence native moved to cornerback from wide receiver.
Garber admitted he never would have thought his first career touchdown would have came on defense. On the play, he saw Blake Shapen turn his way so he knew the ball was coming his direction and just had to make a read on the ball.
He just executed the play and wanted to make sure to just catch it first and foremost. In his press conference, Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman added that he knew Garber would not be caught as soon as he caught the ball.
