Former Kentucky QB Beau Allen enters transfer portal

Lexington (Ky.) Catholic product Beau Allen is on the move again. After one season in the FCS, the quarterback is now looking for his third home in three seasons.
The former high three-star recruit is back in the transfer portal.
Playing in a spread scheme at Tarleton State, Allen threw for 2,836 yards while completing 56.8% of his 30.9 passes per game. The 6-foot-2 quarterback tossed for 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the Texans to a 6-5 record.
Beau Allen will be a redshirt junior in 2023 with three years of eligibility remaining.
WKU needs another quarterback
Under head coach Tyson Helton, we’ve seen WKU transition to an Air Raid offense and dip into some lower levels of college football to find a quarterback. FCS transfer Bailey Zappe was outstanding in 2021 and is now QB2 for the New England Patriots. Division II transfer Austin Reed had a solid season in 2022 throwing for 4,247 yards and 36 touchdowns on 7.8 yards per attempt.
