It’s not going to get any easier for Kentucky baseball head coach Nick Mingione as he prepares for his seventh season as the lead man in Lexington.

On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference unveiled the full 2023 schedule for all 14 programs. The Bat ‘Cats will play 10, three-game intraconference series this spring, beginning with a home matchup against Texas A&M from March 17-19 and ending with a home stretch against Missouri from May 18-20. Half of Kentucky’s SEC games will be played at Kentucky Proud Park with the remaining five coming on the road.

The 2023 SEC Tournament is scheduled to take place from May 23-28 in Hoover, AL.

The SEC schedule sure won’t be a cakewalk for UK. Of the Wildcats’ 10 SEC opponents, four of them finished last season ranked among the nation’s top 25, including Texas A&M and Tennessee inside the top 10.

Kentucky’s first of two exhibition games this fall will come on Sunday, October 9 against Marshall inside of Kentucky Proud Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST and admission is free. The ‘Cats second exhibition will come on the road against Xavier on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Prasco Park in Mason, OH.

Coach Mingione continued to hit the transfer portal hard over the offseason, which he’s done the last couple of years with the introduction of the immediate transfer rule. A double-digit number of transfers will come to Lexington after spending the 2022 season elsewhere.

The Bat ‘Cats are coming off a season in which the program missed the NCAA Tournament after posting an overall record of 33-26 (12-18 in the SEC). Kentucky nearly pulled off the unthinkable by winning the SEC Tournament, but was bested by Tennessee in the semifinals following a surprise run in Hoover.
