Quentel Jones, Georgia Defensive Lineman, Commits to Kentucky

Kentucky is getting bigger and better in the trenches. Thursday morning three-star defensive lineman Quentel Jones committed to the Wildcats, choosing UK over Auburn, Mississippi State, Miami and Tennessee.
A native of Fort Valley in Peach County, Georgia, Jones officially visited Kentucky last weekend. He left impressed, pledging his allegiance to the BBN days later.
“I liked it. I got to see the city and I had a good time,” he told Josh Edwards of 247 Sports. “Everybody had a good time. You feel like you are wanted there. I got to see the campus, of course. I got to see the night life. It was all good times and good vibes. I got to meet some of the players. I got to talk to some of the defensive linemen.”

Jones Bulks Up UK’s Defensive Line
A 6-foot-2, 315-pound defensive tackle, On3 ranks Jones as the No. 78 defensive lineman in America. Recruited by Anwar Stewart, Jon Sumrall and Brad White, Jones is the 17th player in Kentucky’s top 15 recruiting class.
UK’s 2022 recruiting class now has a pair of defensive lineman. Jones follows another Brad White recruit, Tomiwa Durojaiye, Delaware’s 3A Defensive Player of the Year. The Cats could add another big-time player in the trenches on signing day. Four-star talent Deone Walker will announce his decision next Wednesday between UK, Georgia and Michigan, just days after officially visiting Kentucky. Could Walker’s recruitment follow a path similar to Jones’? We will have to wait and see.
