Go Cats Score: 4-2 CATS WIN!!!!!!!!! Bot 9: A leadoff single but a flyout and 4-6-3 double play ends it as the Cats live to see another day.  Will play tomorrow at noon. Top 9: A one out single to left by Kuhn and a double into the right-centerfield gap scores a run and cuts the lead to 2-1.  Reed is pinch-run for on second meaning his day on the mound it done.   Thomas Bernal bloops a bases loaded double down the leftfield  line as the Cats take a 4-2 lead!!!! Bot 8: Kent gets a two out single back up the box but nothing else.  Cats coming to the plate with the top of the order down 2.  Kent State's starter will pitch the 9th. Top 8: A two out single by Matt Reida give the Cats their third hit of the day but nothing else.  Cats will have the top of the order (Cousino, Kuhn, Reed) in the ninth down no less than 2-0. Bot 7: A leadoff single and a sac bunt leads to Ka'ai Tom throwing out the runner at the plate on a single to shallow left to end the inning.  Golden Flashes up to seven hits, UK has just two. Top 7: A diving catch in right robs Reed of a leadoff hit in would may wall be his final at-bat in a Wildcat uniform.  Another 1-2-3 for Kent State's starter who has retired 21 of the 23 batters he's faced. Bot 6: Another 1-2-3 inning for Reed.  Heart of the order due up for UK.  Have to get something going with just nine outs left. Top 6: A two-out bunt single by Austin Cousino ends the consecutive Cats retired streak at 13 but the UK can do no more. Bot 5: A two out infield single ended Reed's consecutive batters retired streak at 14 and 25 for both pitchers combined. Top 5: Cats go down in order again as Kent State's starter has now retired 11 in a row.  Reed has retired 12 in a row since allowing hits to the first four batters.  That's a combined 23 batters retired in a row in the game. Bot 4: Matt Reida with a nice pick a short to end another 1-2-3 inning. Top 4: Cats go down in order again as Kent State's starter has them completely off balance. Bot 3: Another 1-2-3 inning for Reed who has settled in nicely after the first. Top 3: Strikeout, pop out, ground out as UK goes down in order. Bot 2: A 1-2-3 inning for Reed as Kent State goes strikeout, ground out, fly out. Top 2: Micheal Thomas gets UK's first hit of the game but nothing else doing for UK. Bot 1:  The first four Golden Flashes get base hits to take a 2-0.  Reed retires the next three to limit the damage but the first inning woes for UK continue. Top 1: Cats go in order as Cousino pops out to the shortstop, Kuhn flies to center, and Reed drives one to the warning track in right.
