Marty Smith sat down with the Pike County coal miner that went viral when he showed up covered in soot at the Wildcats’ Blue-White Game. The ESPN cameras were rolling when his family made the trip to Lexington for a VIP experience at the Duquesne game that included a moment at mid-court as the ceremonial “Y.”

“When I get in big crowds I get a little real nervous,” McGuire said. “I thought I was gonna pass out. That was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
