If an ACC media poll is to believed, then the Miami Hurricanes football team will win the Coastal and face Clemson in the conference title game.

That’s a lot of respect from a swarm of reporters typically not all that warm to UM, and perhaps it’s a sign of the perception of the program under Mario Cristobal’s guidance.

The Canes got 98 of the 164 votes to finish in first place in the Coastal, with Pittsburgh finishing No. 2 with 38 first-place votes. North Carolina was third with 18.

On the other side it was a big run for Clemson with 111 first place votes followed by NC State’s 44.

While the above is good news for Cane fans that believe in polls, the results also show that reporters believe the Coastal is quite a bit weaker than the Atlantic.

Clemson was chosen to be the overall conference champ with 103 votes, and it wasn’t the Hurricanes following the Tigers. Picked as the runner-up was NC State with 38 votes. Miami only got 8 votes to win the ACC this year, followed by Wake Forest with 4 and then Pitt and Virginia with 3 apiece. Florida State even got some votes to win the ACC, with two.
