OU has added another piece to its offensive line from the transfer portal. Washington offensive lineman Geirean Hatchett has committed to Oklahoma, he announced Monday.

Hatchett started four games at right guard for Washington last year. He played multiple positions for the Huskies, appearing in 12 games, including the national championship. Hatchett, who is 6-foot-4, 303 pounds, played 264 snaps last season and was a key part of Washington winning the Joe Moore Award. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Hatchett is also the older brother of Landen Hatchett, who also entered the portal and OU was interested in. But Landen has opted to return to Washington where he’s expected to be the Huskies’ starting center in 2024.

Nonetheless, landing the older Hatchett is a big get for the Sooners. OU is rebuilding its offensive line in 2024, losing several players to the portal and the NFL Draft. Hatchett is now the fourth offensive lineman OU has taken in the portal, joining Michigan State’s Spencer Brown, USC’s Michael Tarquin and North Texas’ Febechi Nwaiwu.

He is also now the 13th player OU has taken in the portal.
