2026 4-star Rochester (NY) James Monroe wide receiver Messiah Hampton, an Oregon commit, has been invited to the Navy All-American Bowl.

He shared the news over social media on Thursday.

Hampton’s invitation is the latest achievement in what’s been nothing less than a spectacular offseason for the No. 7 wide receiver in the Rivals rankings. As a junior in 2024 Hampton caught 56 passes for 869 yards and eight receiving touchdowns. Hampton accounted for 1,900 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns, staring as a return specialist as well.

Hampton was Ross Douglas‘ first offer when he got hired from Syracuse in February, and he’s only continued to make a big name for himself in the time since.

He’s shot up the national rankings, rising all the way to No. 48 nationally this offseason. He was named On3’s MVP at the Miami Under Armour Camp and held his own against the best defensive backs in the country on the 7v7 circuit playing with 24 K.

The top prospect in New York chose the Ducks over finalists like Miami, Syracuse, Penn State and others.

“The No. 1 thing for me was how invested I feel like the coach is into my development right now in high school before I even got there,” Hampton told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong after his commitment. “Even from his time back at Syracuse we had Zoom meetings every Monday going over route breakdowns, going over releases, going over everything. Then getting over to Oregon him telling the building about me and them showing the same love. They truly invested in my success.”

Recent Oregon signees to play in the Navy All-American Bowl include 5-star safety Trey McNutt, 4-star cornerback Dorian Brew and 4-star EDGE Tobi Haastrup from the 2025 class.

Rivals’ Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power on Messiah Hampton

Messiah Hampton delivered a sensational performance at Under Armour Miami. Making the trek to South Florida from Rochester, New York, Hampton proved unguardable all afternoon. At 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with plus length, Hampton pairs his translatable size with advanced technical skills. He was dominant during 1-on-1’s showing the ability to win at levels of the field while winning the vast majority, if not all of his reps. We saw him separate vertically, showing top-end speed and the ability to tempo his routes.

He later shook a Power 4 cornerback prospect with a nasty out-breaking comeback route. The play speed and slick routes combined with excellent ball skills. Hampton consistently framed his catches away from his body and tracked the ball effortlessly over his shoulder. He also showed the ability to fight through contact at the catch point. It’s not every day we see a prospect from upstate New York come down to South Florida and dominate, but the On3 Outlier left little doubt he was the On3 MVP by day’s end.
