Purdue in the Pros: Week 13
Markus Bailey – Cincinnati Bengals

Bailey got on the field for a single defensive snap at linebacker in addition to playing on a variety of special teams units in the Bengals’ 27-24 win over Kansas City on Sunday. Though defensive time has not been consistent, he remains a valuable special teams piece. The Bengals host in-state rival Cleveland on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions
Barnes played a reserve role, earning 20 snaps and recording two tackles at middle linebacker in Detroit’s 40-14 blowout victory over Jacksonville. He also tacked on 15 snaps on a variety of special teams units as the Lions cruised. Detroit hosts Minnesota at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
David Bell – Cleveland Browns
Bell started at wide receiver for Cleveland’s 27-14 win over Houston, but he only played three snaps before leaving with a hand injury. Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski says that Bell is currently “day-to-day” ahead of their in-state showdown with Cincinnati at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Ja’Whaun Bentley – New England Patriots
In another primetime matchup, Bentley played 65 of 75 snaps in New England’s 24-10 loss to Buffalo, recording four tackles. He tacked on seven special teams snaps as part of the punt teams. Though it’s not been a dream season for New England, Bentley continues to play a key role on the defense at middle linebacker. He’ll suit up yet again in primetime this week when the Patriots travel to Arizona for Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m.
Anthony Brown – Dallas Cowboys
The veteran corner started and broke up a pass as the Cowboys blew out Indianapolis 54-19 on Sunday Night Football. He also added three tackles to help Dallas dominate. The division-leading Cowboys return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. against the lowly Texans.
Brycen Hopkins – Los Angeles Rams
The second-year tight end saw 10 snaps on offense as the defending Super Bowl champion Rams fell to Seattle 27-23 on Sunday. With a strong top tight end ahead of him in Tyler Higbee, snaps aren’t easy to come by currently. It’s a quick turnaround for Hopkins and LA, as they host the Raiders on Thursday Night Football.
Zander Horvath – Los Angeles Chargers
Horvath saw four snaps at fullback on top of his typical full special teams load as the Chargers fell to the Raiders 27-20. The rookie will be back in primetime on Sunday when the Chargers host Miami at 8:20 p.m.

George Karlaftis – Kansas City Chiefs
Karlaftis started and played 33 snaps as the Chiefs fell to Cincinnati 27-24. The West Lafayette product made a pair of tackles, including a sack, plus a hurry of the quarterback in the loss. He’ll aim to continue building on a solid rookie campaign when the Chiefs travel to Denver for a 4:05 p.m. kickoff on Sunday.
Dennis Kelly – Indianapolis Colts
Kelly got back in the starting lineup at right tackle, playing 48 of 72 snaps in the Colts’ 54-19 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. After starting for a stretch earlier this season, Kelly mostly saw special teams action in recent weeks. The Colts will take Week 14 off for their bye week.
DaMarcus Mitchell – New England Patriots
The JuCo and Purdue product saw his customary special teams Swiss Army Knife role continue as he recorded a tackle in Thursday’s 24-10 loss to the Bills. Though he’s not broken into the defensive rotation, he’s a key cog in the Patriots’ special teams unit. Will his old teammate, Rondale Moore, be healthy when their teams meet up on Monday Night Football this week?
Rondale Moore – Arizona Cardinals
Arizona enjoyed their bye week in Week 13, as Rondale Moore got the chance to rest up his recent groin injury. Without status reports during the bye week, it’s too early to tell if the speedster will return when the Cardinals host New England on Monday at 8:15 p.m.
Raheem Mostert – Miami Dolphins
The veteran running back returned from injury to start at running back for Miami in their 33-17 loss at San Francisco. He carried the ball seven times for 30 yards and gained a pair of first downs in his return to action. He’ll look to build on that performance when the Dolphins travel to the Chargers for Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. this weekend.
