Two quarterbacks from the 2024 recruiting class that have been Gamecock football targets were on campus Thursday.

Chapin product Jayden Bradford, now at IMG Academy in Florida, and Connecticut’s Dante Reno both worked out during the Shane Beamer Football Camp session in Columbia.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – currently ranks Bradford as the number 44 prospect in the country regardless of position in the 2024 class. The Consensus has the 6-foot, 185-pounder as the 13th-best prospect in the state of Florida for that cycle and as the number 6 quarterback prospect nationally. Bradford played his first two seasons of high school football at Chapin High in the Midlands under head coach Justin Gentry.

Gamecock football, which has hosted Bradford for numerous unofficial visits during his recruitment, currently has a 74 percent chance of landing the Palmetto State native according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.  On3’s RPM factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends, with expert predictions a significant part of the equation.

Gamecock football is also the current leader for Dante Reno according to the On3 RPM.

“They’re just good people and they treat me really well, me and my family,” Reno told Gamecock Central back in April after a pair of spring visits. “We all felt comfortable with the staff, the players. My family walked into the facility, the first time we were there, the whole staff greeted me, the second time, they did the same thing. So nothing really changes on their part, the way that they react and the way that they treat me and my family.”

The Fiskdale (Massachusetts) Loomis Chaffee School passer is ranked by the On3 Consensus as a four-star quarterback. The Consensus lists the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder as the nation’s 229th-best prospect regardless of position, the number 17 quarterback nationally for the 2024 class, and the second-best prospect in the state of Connecticut.
