Pittsburgh linebacker Bangally Kamara, the Panthers’ fourth-leading tackler, has announced a commitment to South Carolina.

The senior linebacker collected a career-high 55 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks last year. He contributed five quarterback hits and one pass breakup during the 2023 season as well. He has one year of eligibility left.

Kamara is another addition to a South Carolina linebacker room that lost Stone Blanton and Pup Howard to the transfer portal this offseason. Charlotte transfer linebacker Demetrius Knight II, an All-AAC First Team Selection in 2023, also committed to the Gamecocks earlier this week.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound native of Akron, Ohio attended East High School before joining the Panthers. Kamara was a versatile player for the Dragons, appearing at linebacker, tight end, wide receiver, kicker and punter. The On3 Industry Ranking rated him as the No. 631 prospect nationally in the class of 2020. He was also No. 17 prospect from Ohio and the No. 45 safety in that year’s class.
