South Carolina loses transfer portal pledge
Transfer portal tight end Brady Hunt has flipped his commitment from South Carolina to Texas A&M, GamecockCentral.com has learned.
As of publication, the 6-foot-6, 249-pounder had not publicly announced the switch.
Hunt originally committed to Shane Beamer’s program on December 17.
The assistant coach who recruited him to Ball State and coached him for the 2021 season, Patrick Dougherty, was hired by new Texas A&M coach Mike Elko as his tight end coach/special teams coordinator, giving a helpful connection to College Station.

The Muncie (Indiana) native is a former high school quarterback who converted to tight end early in his college career.
The 6-foot-6, 249-pounder missed the 2023 season for the Cardinals, but turned in a stellar 2022 campaign at Ball State. That season, he caught 46 passes for 498 yards and 5 touchdowns.
