One of the nation’s highest-ranked offensive tackle prospects and a major 2024 Gamecocks target is set to reveal his commitment later this month.

Dorchester (South Carolina) Woodland’s Kam Pringle will announce his choice on January 22 at a ceremony at his high school, he said via social media on Monday.

Earlier this month, the four-star prospect named a top six in no particular order of South Carolina, Georgia, NC State, Clemson, Tennessee, and Florida.

“A program that jumped in on recruiting me as a 9th grader just as soon as they stepped foot in their new home,” Pringle said of Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks program. “Made sure to prioritize me in recruitment and with them being just over 30 minutes from my front door, the fan base also has heavy influence in my area.”

The 2024 On3 Consensus, which averages the rankings for all the major recruiting services, ranks Pringle as the number one recruit from the state of South Carolina and the number 1 offensive tackle in the country. He is also considered the number. 40 overall prospect in his class.

On3 itself considers Pringle the No. 2 offensive tackle, No. 1 prospect in SC and No. 30 overall prospect in his class.

In September of last year, Pringle explained to On3 how he would go back about his decision.

“When I make the decision, it will be like really educated, professional decision,” Pringle said. “It’s not just gonna be, oh, my friend committed so I’m gonna go there or they said they’re gonna do this, I’m gonna go there. It’s going to be really where I feel comfortable.”

The South Carolina Gamecocks currently lead the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Pringle. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has odds for each recruit’s commitment. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

USC, according to On3’s RPM, currently has over a 32 percent chance to land Pringle’s services.

Shane Beamer recently promoted analyst Lonnie Teasley, who handled the on-field coaching of the offensive line in Greg Adkins’ absence for much of 2022 and part of the 2021 season, to the full-time role.

“They have done a great job recruiting me and my family,” Pringle previously told On3 of South Carolina. “The fan base is really strong and loyal, so that stands out. The coaches are great men and keep their word.”
