To win at a consistently high level means stacking talented class after talented class. The top-five 2024 class does just that following top-five finishes in the 2022 and 2023 classes.

On the first national signing day, Inside Texas will offer profiles of each member of the 2024 signing class. Up next, Christian Clark

The Player: Christian Clark, RB, Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe

The Rating: 90.07 (four-star)

The Ranking: Clark is ranked as the No. 319 overall prospect, the No. 22 running back, and the No. 6 player in Arizona. On3 ranks Clark as the No. 29 running back and the No. 6 player in Arizona.

The Highlights:

The Recruitment: The leadup to the summer before his senior year included trips around the country, but this recruitment came down to Texas, Oregon, and Florida State. Each school got their opportunity to woo Clark, but Tashard Choice knocked his chance out of the park and likely used a strong Bijan Robinson centered pitch to win over the Arizona four-star

The Projection: Christian Clark reminds me of the last blue chip running back to come out of Arizona and draw Texas’ interest at running back, Bijan Robinson. He has some similar dynamism as a runner with some shocking lateral agility and the ability to stop and change directions on a dime. Backs like Clark can make most any scheme work because they can threaten multiple windows across the front at the same time, he’d be a slam dunk in the Texas offense. – Ian Boyd

The Reasoning: “The relationship that I established with Coach Choice, Coach Sark and the staff. Choice’s energy is infectious. He has been to where I want to go and has proven that he knows how to develop Running Backs. My parents and I were able to spend 1 on 1 time with the staff of the Communications Department which is one of the top programs in the country. I was able to hang out with players like Jonathon Brooks, Ced Baxter and others. Hearing how they were able to adapt to college life was good to hear and the city of Austin is awesome. It just felt great overall.”

The Relationship: “I have developed a great relationship with Coach Choice, Coach Sark, and the rest of the UT staff. Their plan for me is to develop me into the best person I can be off and the on the field. The offense they run will allow me to showcase my versatility with being able to catch the ball out the backfield, slot, and of course run the football.”

The Enrollment: Clark is an early enrollee.
