Inside Texas takes a look at how the month of June unfolded.

June 17

State of Arizona cornerback Santana Wilson got the June party started with his commitment June 17. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder committed to Texas during his official visit over Arizona State, Washington and others. The son of former NFL safety and NFL executive Adrian Wilson will begin his college career at corner. Wilson’s father signed off on the Longhorns due to scheme fit and prior relationships with Steve Sarkisian and Terry Joseph.

June 18

On3 Industry Ranking 4-star Freddie Dubose Jr. became the first wide receiver commitment for Chris Jackson on June 18. The very high-end athlete picked Texas over Tennessee and UTSA with the Longhorns always being the favorite if Sarkisian and staff pushed. Dubose rebounded extremely well from a season opening ACL injury to qualify for the Texas UIL State Track and Field meet.

June 22

Tashard Choice brought in two running backs for official visits in the 2024 cycle and he go both. The first to commit was On3 Industry ranking 4-star Christian Clark. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder picked Texas over Oregon, FSU and USC. Clark has a blend of quickness, power and contact balance with sure hands out of the backfield.

June 24

On3 Industry ranking 4-star Jerrick Gibson committed to the Longhorns on June 24 in an Instagram live video. This marked the second straight class that Tashard Choice went into the Sunshine State and won out for the state’s top running back. Gibson also happens to be one of the top running backs in the country, and kick starts Texas recruiting efforts at IMG Academy ahead of the move to the SEC.

June 25

Atascocita High guard prospect Nate Kibble was the surprise commitment of the month. The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder with 33 7/8 inch arms picked Texas over Texas A&M on Sunday night following an official visit. Kibble moving up his timeline to make a June 23-25 official visit was unexpected for the Texas staff. Sarkisian and Kyle Flood jumped on the opportunity to add the large human to the 2024 class.

June 28

On3 Industry ranking 4-star center prospect Daniel Cruz committed to Texas over Oklahoma and Ohio State, with Texas A&M not entering into the final equation. Sarkisian and Kyle Flood left zero doubt with Cruz and family how much he was wanted by Texas from the start. Cruz checks every box a lineman can entering the Power 5 level.
