USC Drops Winter Conditioning Hype Video
We’re fewer than three weeks away from the start of 2023 spring ball for USC, but the Trojans have been putting in plenty of work during winter conditioning sessions.
To give a peek at some of the work being done and to continue to whet everyone’s appetite for the return of USC football, the Trojans’ video department showed some love on Valentine’s Day with a hype video.
The video starts off with a challenge from head coach Lincoln Riley as he addresses one of the workout groups.
“Do you make the other people in your group better because you’re there? Or would it be any different if you weren’t here? Think about that for a second.”
The video features close-up shots of several well-known returners such as quarterback Caleb Williams, linebacker Shane Lee, wide receiver Mario Williams, running back Austin Jones and center Justin Dedich.
There are also quick hits of early enrollee freshman linebacker Tackett Curtis, incoming offensive lineman Michael Tarquin and a few other transfer portal additions.

And it ends with what has become the offseason mantra for a USC program that made it to the conference championship game in 2022 but is looking for much more than that in 2023: “Job’s Not Finished.”
Prepping for USC Spring Ball
Follow along with WeAreSC and we get ready for USC’s spring ball kickoff on March 4. We’ve been tackling the 20 most intriguing Trojans to watch over the 15 spring ball practices.
We started with Dedich making the move from guard to center. The No. 19 player was another offensive lineman as Courtland Ford could again challenge for that left tackle position. And rush end Romello Height will be one to watch this spring as he returns from injury to hopefully fortify a position of need for the Trojans.
We also took a position-by-position look this offseason at what’s next for the Trojans at each spot as the calendar turns from 2022 to 2023. There are still more changes on the way as the fall freshman enrollees arrive this summer and the Trojans will likely again be active in the transfer portal once spring ball concludes. But for now, this 15-practice spring ball session will begin to set the tone for USC’s 2023 season.
