USC offers former BC commit Desman Stephens
Yet another offer has been dished out from USC as Clarkston (Mich.) 2024 defensive back Desman Stephens II announces the news.
Stephens is the No. 450 overall prospect and No. 40 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Michigan.
Stephens, a former Boston College commit, re-opened his recruitment on Oct. 3.
The Trojans offering a linebacker at this point in the recruiting is intriguing. The USC staff recruited quite a few prospects in the summer, although they missed on some of their top targets. Names like Tyanthony Smith, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, and Chris Cole are among those that chose elsewhere.
Even after Stephens committed to Boston College, he took two official visits. Those visits were to Louisville and Purdue.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Purdue currently holds the lead to land a commitment from Stephens at 34.1%.

Stephens has had a fairly active recruitment, holding 16 offers to his name. Along with USC, he has Purdue, Louisville, Boston College, Michigan State, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Duke, Indiana, Virginia, Colorado State, Toledo, Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Air Force, and Army.
