Great article JC. This is music to my ears because Fitzgerald has been #1 with me for quite awhile. Here's hoping he will be bringing his energy and winning ways to Founders Park soon. Pay The Man Whatever It Takes To Get Him Here!

Honestly, I'd rather have him or the GT coach over Schnall. I like Schnall at CCU, but I'm not 100% sold on him just yet. Too many variables right now to know exactly who he is as a coach. Positives: He was handed a loaded team and took them to the CWS final. He brought in great talent last offseason and navigated losing multiple starting pitchers this season. His style of baseball is fun to watch when it works, and reminds me of old school USC baseball. Negatives: lost last two series vs middle of the pack SBC teams. Had a 3 game lead with 6 to play and didn't win the conference. Team hit .264. Arguments can be made both ways, and my belief is Schall will be a solid coach. But the $$$ it will take to get him away from Coastal and the unknowns make me hesitant to have him take the reins at SC. Getting Holbrook vibes.

Didn’t realize he had sec coaching experience. That’s definitely a plus. Really hope we get Ramsey, but Fitzgerald sounds like he may be a better fit for rebuilding. Not completely sold on Schnall, but I’ll pull for him if he’s the guy

SEC rules prohibit students any closer than 4 rows behind the visitor’s dugout. I don’t see Donati giving up the revenue from the season ticket sales from row 5 back in those sections for students.

Great article @JC Shurburtt ... The more I hear about Fitzgerald the more and more I like.. I would be ecstatic with any of the three most mentioned, Schnall, Ramsey or Fitzgerald.. And I think I'm leaning more towards Fitzgerald..

Thanks for this additional info/insight. I am liking this guy more and more. The part about the student section at their games is interesting especially in light of our how students have been treated over the last few years at Founders. It seems we've made a focus on The Cockpit for students at WB and CLA while ignoring it at Founders. And how the previous AD leadership basically dismantled the World Famous Third Base Hecklers.

His wiki page says he was born in either 1977 or 1978. That must be an interesting story.

A lot of that is due to moving to the new park and people not getting seats together.

Typacall SEC stupid rule. While at clemmy students can hang over the visitor's bullpen on the playing field drinking beer and curse at them

Ramsey at GT is in his first year there.... If there were one of the names we have heard that I was a little iffy about it would be him.

The year at LSU really tops it off. He checks the SEC experience box and was at a big time baseball pressure cooker.

I'm curious why the Southern Miss coach isn't getting more chatter. He is 130-46 in three years at USM, won the SBC for the first time this year and has them ranked in the top-10 with some impressive wins. Or did I miss something on him?
