Should we all just bring so air horns every game?
I don't know how they have any hearing left after ringing those things all day.

Maybe we should put $100k cowbells in Neyland and see if they are legal then

I believe they grandfathered it in when they outlawed artificial noise. They can’t use them after the ball is put in play but it’s still dumb. That stadium would be as quiet as Vandy stadium without them.

Every school should be allowed to bring noise makers if they can bring cowbells.

No other SEC team is allowed artificial noise makers. It does sound like they stop right before the snap. I wonder if that is what the SEC makes them do.

It’s a special dispensation they got from the SEC. They are only allowed to ring them at certain times and NOT when the officials have set the ball. They are obviously doing this. The SEC needs to take them away.

Right, that's the deal they struck in order to have them grandfathered in. Seems like they're doing it.

Exactly. As soon as the ball is in play they have to stop using them. Still dumb though.

I want to understand WHY THEY ARE GRANDFATHERED! What is special about them that they get an exemption?
