2026 LB Cayton Kubah-Taylor Talks Army West Point Commitment
Linebacker Cayton Kubah-Taylor is out of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Maryland and he currently holds several offers.
The 6-foot-1, 215 pounder can lay claim to offers from Army, Navy,
Syracuse, Marshall, UMass, Buffalo, Towson, New Hampshire, UNC Charlotte, Liberty, Howard, Richmond, Albany, Rhode Island and Morgan State.
The linebacker’s initial visit to the academy came back on June 15th, which was when the Army coaching staff hosted their first Junior Day. According to Kubah-Taylor, he will be making a return visit (OV) in January, but the date has yet to be determined.
But it was back in June that the inside linebacker officially committed to the Black Knights.
“I first called Coach (Aaron) Smith and Coach Juice (Justin Weaver) on June 26th to let them know I committed and they were both audibly excited,” explained Kubah-Taylor.
“When i called I talked about everything I learned on my visit and how Army really stood out to me and I felt like it was a fit. I loved the overall tradition of the school and the family feel with the coaches.”
During his frosh year, Kubah-Taylor played a bit safety, but then he was eventually moved to linebacker, which is where he will start his college for the Black Knights.
Army Defensive Fit
“I can see my blitzing and downhill run fit fitting in perfectly,” he stated. “As well as the ability to drop back into coverage or even spy the quarterback. In love the versatility of their 3-4 and I feel I am perfect for it.”
The hard-hitting linebacker is coming off of a solid 2025 season where he and his teammates finished at 6-5, where he had 86 total tackles (45 solo), 7 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 INTs, 3 PBU and 1 fumble recovery.
He was named 1st Team All-WCAC and All-MET Honorable Mention.
