Raise your hand if you thought the last of unbeaten fab four freshmen would be Aaron Gordon… Thanks to a strong showing by his Wildcats over Duke, Gordon became the last man standing. That was before
Andrew Wiggins and the 2nd-ranked Kansas Jayhawks fell to Villanova in the late game.
Jabari Parker of Duke, and our own Julius Randle have arguably been the most impressive of the bunch, but both were dealt their lumps earlier in the season. Here is where each player stands through the first month of the season.
Julius Randle
19.0 pts, 13.1 reb, 1.9 ast, 0.7 blk, 3.8 TO, 15.0 Roland
Andrew Wiggins
15.7 pts, 5.3 reb, 1.7 ast, 0.5 blk, 1.3 TO, 15.8 Roland
Jabari Parker
23.0 pts, 8.0 reb, 2.0 ast, 1.7 blk, 3.1 TO, 7.4 Roland
Aaron Gordon
12.1 pts, 9.3 reb, 1.6 ast, 1.5 blk, 1.4 TO, 12.0 Roland
Parker might be “the next Lebron,” Wiggins may “have the most potential,” and Gordon could have “the better body,”
but Randle is the Kentucky boss-hog and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.
