Another day, another player for Cal to watch. This time it was 6'9" center Dakari Johnson, a teammate of Michael Gilchrist last season at St. Patrick's and one of the top players in the class of 2014. It wasn't the first time that Calipari watched him in person - he saw him play with Gilchrist last season - and Kentucky is not an entirely foreign land to the New Yorker. Johnson spent part of his middle school years at Sayre (shout out to my man Josh Hopkins) and camped in Louisville in April. He'll play his sophomore season at Montverde Academy in Florida (shout out to your man Michael Avery) and is also hearing from Georgetown, Syracuse, Louisville and pretty much the rest of the Big East. He recently said Syracuse was recruiting him the hardest. Because they have to. Cal can calmly stalk his prey and then move in for the kill.
He's big.
