WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
We catch up with safety Kam Kinchens, who is busy preparing to impress NFL scouts at Miami’s Pro Day today. What is he looking to show them and what is his message about this Miami team under Mario Cristobal? Be sure to check out that story.
The Miami Hurricanes won’t return to the practice field until tomorrow morning … but there will be Canes working out on Greentree today. Stay tuned for all our Pro Day coverage later this afternoon as former players like Kam Kinchens, James Williams, Leonard Taylor and others look to up their draft stock. We’ll also have a postseason interview with Jim Larranaga that will be on the site this afternoon.
You also can check out our analysis of what positions Miami may be targeting in the second portal window.
Also be sure to check out all the recaps/reaction off the baseball team’s big series against North Carolina from over the weekend, with UM taking two of three.
And there was our story on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson making waves in the WWE once again as well as the news that Cam Ward has inked an NIL deal with a Fortune 500 company.
Recruiting news?
We’ve got that for you as well.
Since receiving an offer from the Miami Hurricanes in January, Edgewater (Fla.) three-star offensive lineman Jaden Wilkerson has felt the love from the Canes. That was even further felt last week when he received over a dozen handwritten cards from Miami’s staff, whom he named his top school. Don’t miss what he’s saying.
A commit who is being pushed for by FSU and others that updates his status for us? That’s Quincy (Fla.) Gadsden County three-star 2025 offensive tackle Lamar Williams.
Milton (Fla.) Pace EDGE Tylon Lee will be on the road over the next few weeks, and one of his stops will be in Miami for an unofficial visit with the Hurricanes on March 22. Get his thoughts heading into it.
We also catch up with Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez, one of Miami’s four commits in the 2025 class. He hasn’t formally shut down his recruitment, so where do things stand?
Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star safety Kendall Daniels also shares the latest as Miami is among his final choices.
IMG Academy three-star center Kaden Strayhorn is all but certain he’ll take an official visit to Miami this summer and breaks things down.
Plus there’s an update with Wildwood (Fla.) Jones four-star 2025 receiver Vernell Brown III, who has the Canes among his top choices.
Also check out what 2026 Marianna (Fla.) 2026 running back Amari Clemons is saying after he picked up a Cane offer.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
My thoughts on the team … Posted by Greglloyd1214
This time a year everyone drinks the Kool-Aid. I do think Cam is a huge upgrade over TVD and our offense could be lethal. Marios third year here with portal additions and elite high school recruiting should help BUT we still have holes.
Reality is Lou Cristobal is riding with the first team all week. Carpenter, although a really good addition is a significant drop off to Matt Lee. Fletcher is probably not going to start against UF and after him, there’s no one in that RB that exites you. Say what you want but losing a big body like Colbie is going to hurt. I do think Mario goes after a big time WR1 in the portal but until he does, this position is still not what it needs to be. TE ?? Last year was horrible. Arroyo is healthy but again, we’re one injury away from the position being extinct again.
On a positive note, I do think Cam is the guy we need to take us to the next level. He’s elite. Guys like Anez, Rivers and Mauigoa are going to be total studs. I still have my doubts on Dawson but I do think year 2 should be better. Also can’t discount the jump the offense made from the previous year so gotta give props to Dawson. Hopefully, year 2 is even a bigger jump.
I’ll wait to see it before I believe anything. I think if Mario can get a WR1, a CB and another DT, I think this team could be a 10 win team. We still lack the depth where there’s no drop off. The schedule is very friendly to us. I do believe we end up in the 12 team playoff. I think this team is capable of doing special things this year.
Minimum 10-2. I just don’t see more than two losses. If things fall our way in some games, I think we’re capable of 11-1. Winning 9 games IMO, would be a huge disappointment but I guess could be sold on “progress”. 8-4 would be disastrous.
I’m gonna go with 10-2 and ACCCG !!
