WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The team returns to the practice field this morning, and we’ll be catching up with QB Cam Ward and others afterward so stay tuned for that. This is Miami’s final practice before Saturday’s Spring Game at Cobb Stadium on campus. This morning we also have an update with freshman DE Cole McConathy, who hopes to make an immediate impact.

We also have your first portal analysis story, as Miami is expected to chase hard after a top running back and Oregon State’s Damien Martinez might just fit the bill. So don’t miss that.

Also check out CaneSport’s Izubee Charles joining On3’s Josh Newberg to break down some epic Miami vs. Ohio State recruiting battles.

More recruiting news?

Buford (Ga.) three-star tight end Hayden Bradley wasn’t a particularly well-known recruit this time a year ago, but as his recruitment has intensified, Miami has stayed squarely in the mix. He’ll be on campus this weekend and has an OV set, so don’t miss his thoughts.

Huntersville (SC.) Williams Amos High School four-star cornerback Samari Matthews visited last weekend, and his time on campus did not disappoint.

Another visitor? That was Bellevue (WA) interior offensive lineman Willi Wascher. He came on Tuesday, so check out what he’s saying.

We also catch up with 2026 athlete Derrek Cooper, who was on campus last weekend. The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna standout has caught Miami’s attention, and the Hurricanes are wasting no time making the top-30 prospect feel at home in Coral Gables.

In hoops news check out our update with Morehead State transfer PG Drew Thelwell, who has serious reciprocal interest in the Hurricanes.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Better team this year or same old same old as last year? … Posted by Bobbie Jo

Some on here are going all in on same old as last year. If you follow the board daily you know the group that will be. Some on here will be in on the hype that we will be in the final four You also will know who that group will be. Then most can see the effort to improve and think we will be a better team I’m in that group. I truly believe we will be a better team and will end up at the end of the year around 10-15 ranking of the top 25. O yea and the haters will bring up not taking a knee over and over and love living the past.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“(Players) have taken me under their wing – (Akheem) Mesidor, (Rueben) Bain, EA (Elijah Alston), all of them have been very accommodating helping me anytime I have a question, want to stay after watching film, they’re always there.”
