Recruitment

Michigan zeroed in on Davis as its top quarterback target in the 2024 recruiting class. While he delayed his announcement on a couple of occasions, Davis ultimately committed to the Wolverines early in the spring. Davis picked U-M over offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee and others. Michigan quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell served as his primary recruiter.

He Said It

“One of the times I vividly remember is me being in Coach Jim Harbaugh’s office and him telling me that the weight of the program’s on my shoulders,” Davis told On3’s Chad Simmons. “He’s putting the program in my hands, really, and I’m gonna be the face of that Wolverine program. I held that with a lot of weight, and also, he told me he was turning down commitments and things of that sort from other guys because he was waiting on me. I’m a big loyalty guy, big relationship guy. For a man to do that to very, very highly-rated, top quarterback recruits across the country, that says a lot.”

They Said It

“Jadyn is fiercely competitive. He wants to be the best — not just that he can be but the best that’s ever done it. He’s truly a driven kid. He really wants to be exceptional. I thought he took huge leaps if you look at sophomore film to junior film. He put a lot of work in to get better. He had pure courage in the pocket last year versus having a more flight instinct. He stayed in there and delivered strikes when the clouds turned into thunder. He made college level throws. If anybody has any doubts, you can watch his tape last year and realize that there aren’t any.” — Providence Day head coach Chad Grier

Scouting Report

“I think the first thing that jumps out to me is his game administration. He’s a guy who knows where he’s going with the football. He’s polished. He’s received a lot of coaching. I don’t think Davis is going to outwardly struggle in a setting. He’s consistent. He has a live arm. Is it the best arm in the country? I wouldn’t say that, but his arm strength is good. In terms of playing in structure and doing what the offense asks, he’s very good there. I think the overall development level is strong This is a guy that’s been working as a quarterback for a long time. He’s been well-known and well-established since middle school. The technical aspects of playing the position are not new to him. Physically, he has a pretty developed lower body, and I think that’s where he gets a lot of his power from. That’s what I like the most about him right now.” — On3 Rankings Director Charles Power
