Michigan is firmly in the Top 10 in the 2023 On3 Consensus national team recruiting rankings after landing three-star Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy defensive lineman Brooks Bahr on Tuesday afternoon.

Bahr committed to Michigan over offers from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and others.

Michigan defensive line coach Mike Elston led the way in this recruitment and was able to seal the deal shortly after extending an offer last month. Elston previously recruited Bahr at Notre Dame and made him a top priority once he transitioned to Michigan.

With Bahr in the fold, Michigan remained at No. 8 overall in the On3 Consensus national team rankings. The Wolverines now have a total score of 89.768, placing them just behind No. 7 Texas A&M, which has a score of 90.127

Michigan is very much in play for Top 100 prospects like quarterback Dante Moore, EDGE prospects Nyckoles Harbor, Samuel M’Pemba and Keon Keeley, cornerback Cormani McClain, wide receiver Jalen Brown, safety Derek Williams, offensive linemen Markis Deal and Monroe Freeling and more. And that means the Wolverines should continue to move up the rankings.

The sixth member of the 2023 Michigan recruiting class, Bahr joins Top 100 linebacker Raylen Wilson, On300 tight end Andrew Rappleyea, Consensus four-star running back Cole Cabana, three-star wide receiver Semaj Morgan and highly touted kicker Adam Samaha.

Michigan is looking to take around 25 prospects this cycle.

Michigan is the third highest ranked Big Ten school, trailing No. 4 Ohio State and No. 5 Penn State.
