He went down with a season-ending groin injury in the second game of the season.

Over his career, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Hartzog made 108 career tackles, 13 pass break-ups and eight interceptions.

In NU’s 20-17 win over Cincinnati in Arrowhead Stadium, he came down with an interception in the game’s final seconds that helped seal the win for the Huskers.

Hartzog stepped into a starting role at Nebraska as a true freshman during the 2022 season. He’s played corner, safety and nickel over his time in Lincoln.

Because Hartzog played in only two games in 2025, he preserved his redshirt and will have one season of eligibility remaining.
